FounderHiro Imamoto

Majored in sociology at university. After graduation, he explored diverse fields including finance, art, and architecture, constantly asking himself, “What is my true mission?” In spring 2023, he began studying calligraphy under Shishido Zuiho and has since been deeply moved by countless moments through experiences of Japanese calligraphy and culture. In autumn 2025, he officially launches Treasure Japan.

Favorite word is “Ai” (Love)

Because I believe this vibration is the most powerful force connecting people and resonating beyond regions and cultures.

Mentor&ArtistZuiho Shishido

With 37 years of experience in calligraphy and over 20 years running my own school with more than 100 students, I have cultivated a deep dedication to traditional techniques. Encountering the late Richard Flavin — a renowned washi artist — inspired me to refine every aspect of my work, from brush, ink, and paper to the very way I approaches creation. I wish to share the depth of Japanese culture with people from around the world led me to co-found Treasure Japan with Hiro Imamoto. “Let’s experience moving moments together in Japan!”

Favorite word is “Tsumugu” (Spin/Weave)

Because I wishe to weave a beautiful future together with friends and people all over the world.

Co-CreatorZuitai Ishikawa

Majored in home economics and have worked as a secretary and early childhood education instructor, always valuing personal communication. Growing up watching my mother practice tea ceremony, she developed an interest in calligraphy on hanging scrolls while hosting guests and welcoming international visitors. In 2023, I took the decisive step of studying calligraphy under Shishido-sensei. Today, I treasure human connections while enjoying life with her two dogs. I warmly welcomes everyone to experience Japanese culture.

Favorite word is “Musubu” (Connect)

Because, like threads tied together, I want to create something as one with everyone.

French-speaking Cultural GuideYumi Matsushima

Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music with a major in clarinet, then studied in France at the Conservatoire de Versailles and the Conservatoire de Rueil-Malmaison, winning third prize at the Cle d’Or Competition during my studies abroad. Currently active as a professional musician across Japan while also working as a French interpreter and tour guide.

Favorite word is “Hibiki” (Resonance)

Because just as sounds resonate to create harmony, people meeting and connecting can create new resonances. I look forward to many encounters where such new harmonies are born.

This Moment, Forever —
From the Founder

Since Einstein, physicists have recognized that time is not absolute but shaped by the observer’s state and consciousness. Recent advances in quantum physics go even further, suggesting that the flow of time itself does not truly exist — that it is only an illusion created by the brain.

For over two thousand years, Zen has taught something remarkably similar: there is no past, no future — only this present moment. In the end, the “now” is the only instant in which we truly live. When we devote ourselves fully to it, we shine most brightly and live our lives to their fullest.

Each encounter, each fleeting moment, is also a precious treasure. As you take the brush in your hand for the first time, we have prepared everything with care so that you may face yourself with sincerity and experience a moment capable of stirring your very soul.
